Vienna – Nelson Hospital
The opportunity to document a baby entering this world does not come around often due to the un-predicability and the many other variables of birth. So that makes me incredibly grateful that everything lined up smoothly and I was in the room for this one.
I could honestly share so much of this day but in a way it’s not quite mine to share – it’s yours Michala . You were a wonder to watch as you laboured and then so brave as the unexpected happened and baby came out via cesarean section. Birth is a miracle and makes me teary every time as something so intangible happens before my eyes. From what started as an embryo then to a little human over nine months, just makes me lost for words.
Thank you times a thousand Michala and Josh for one of the greatest privileges to have documented this journey for you. Josh you were an absolute hero as you supported and loved your girl through it all. Also thanks for your good sense of humour, it made me laugh a fair few times. You’ve both created something so beautiful and perfect – Vienna is a gift.
Also big thanks and high fives to the Nelson hospital staff. To be in the room and watch another world happen before me was wild but I absolutely loved it – you guys are legends. I’ve been in more operating theatres this year than ever in my life which is funny as it’s definitely not my preferred space. But God works wonderfully in the details and look at me now – He works all things together for His glory.
First Hello's are soon becoming some of my favourite moments to photograph. How could they not be?
WHAT A MOMENT.
